Full size violin, unlabelled, bearing the maker’s stamp to be found at button and rib joint: “BOOTH.”

Handwriting inside the violin to the front: “Made by, Wm Booth, Mill Hill, Leeds 1816”. Also repairer’s handwriting to the inside back of the violin: “1866, Oct 29”

Freshly set -up in the workshop with new Despiau bridge, new soundpost, new Rosewood tuning pegs, tailpiece and matching Hill style chin-rest, fitted with new Larsen Virtuoso string set

All perfectly working, ideal for an advanced violinist or collector.

The instrument has been repaired at different occasions during its lifetime, all has been thoroughly checked in the workshop and the repairs are sound.

4/4 cello, German, Mittenwald, Neuner & Hornsteiner, circa 1880, with case, £6280

Full Size Cello, German, Neuner & Hornsteiner school, made in Mittenwald around 1880.

This cello is set up with a Wittner finetune tailpiece and fitted with new Larsen string set.

All perfectly playable with a newly fitted Despiau French style bridge, in very good structural condition, minor previous repairs and touch-up of varnish in various place but all have been inspected and is safe and sound, instrument ideal for students and advanced level.

Sold with solid blue hardcase shell, with double bow holder, sold with a full size cello bow.

Full size French violin, unlabelled, stamped at button: “(Chappuy logo), CHAPPUY, A PARIS”, made by Nicolas Augustin Chappuy after his long pattern model, in the typical work and style of the maker.

Put back to ideal playable condition, Rosewood tuning pegs, Wittner tailpiece with embedded adjusters, comfortable Kaufmann style Ebony chin rest of highest quality, fitted with new Thomastik-Einfield Dominant string set, Aubert De Luxe finest bridge, newly fitted soundpost.

All perfectly working, ideal for advanced level.

The instrument is in very good condition, the body has had previous repairs to the front, very well executed and all sound. Wear and tear can be seen on the instrument as would be expected from an instrument that old ! Very well preserved instrument considering its age.

4/4 Cello, German, Circa 1910, unlabelled, with case, £5200, on sale £4850

Full Size Cello, German origin made around 1910.

This cello is equipped with Wittner finetune geared pegs, Ebony tailpiece with black adjuster. Fitted with new Jargar string set.

All working and in good structural condition, previous repairs to be found on scroll and on edge on the instrument but all previous repairs have been inspected and is safe and sound, instrument ideal for students and advanced level.

Sold with solid hardcase shell from the 80’s black exterior with gold/yellow internal lining, with double bow holder case, sold with a full size cello bow.

4/4 violin, French, Hawkes & Son, Mirecourt, 1893, with case, £4450

Full size French violin, labelled: “The, Concert Violin, (Registered), 1893, Hawkes & Son, 28 Leicester Sq., London 15b5”. Originally from the workshop of Jean Baptiste Collin-Mezin for Hawkes & son around 1925 who then became the celebrated company ‘Boosey & Hawkes’. Made using the highest quality tone wood, enhanced by the beautifully laid transparent oil varnish, appearing an elegant light brown colour under natural light.

Recently put back into ideal playable condition, premium indian Rosewood tuning pegs with gold diamonds, matching tailpiece with gold adjuster, Kaufmann style Rosewood chin rest, fitted with new Pirastro Obligato string set, new Despiau fine bridge, newly fitted soundpost.

All perfectly working, ideal for advanced level.

The instrument is in excellent condition, the body has no fracture at all, a little wear can be seen on the back of the instrument but nothing major at all.

Recently put back to ideal playable condition, fine Ebony English style tuning pegs, Wittner tailpiece with four embedded adjusters, comfortable Berber style Ebony chin rest, fitted with new Thomastik-Einfield Dominant string set, new Aubert fine bridge, newly fitted soundpost.

Full Size German violin, unlabelled, made in Klingenthal workshop, circa 1880, recently put back to ideal playable condition, new set of solid Ebony tuning pegs, new fitted Despiau bridge, new soundpost, new Wittner tailpiece with fine adjusters, new Teka style chin rest, fitted with new set of Pirastro Tonica (changed since the pictures) string set.

Perfectly working and freshly set up, ideal for intermediate students & advanced level.

The instrument is in very good structural condition, the body has two repaired fractures, one at treble F hole wing and the other one at the chin rest rib. Made from a one piece spruce front and one piece maple back.

The varnish is of a dark brown with burgundy pigment which highlights the minor scratches on the pictures, it does look better in reality. Very well preserved instrument considering its age.

Perfectly working and freshly set up, ideal for students & advanced level whether it is for Orchestral or Traditional/Folk play.

The instrument is in very good structural condition, the body only has a repaired wing crack on the treble side. Well preserved instrument considering its age. Nicely carved out Lion’s Head showing the care for details.

Recently put back to ideal playable condition, original tuning gears with bone knobs all working, fitted with D’addario Phosphor Bronze string set.

All perfectly working, ideal for connoisseur.
